Balloon Crew
Volunteer Registration
Now Accepting Balloon Crew Volunteers! It is our intention to pair you with the same pilot for the entire weekend. Multiple shifts are ideal, but certainly not expected. This is an important position, as the pilot relies on his/her crew to assist with assembly, inflation and launch of the balloon. They also depend on their crew to chase them while they are flying and to be at the landing spot when they land. The pilot's crew also helps pack up the balloon.
Several training sessions will be scheduled before this event. We encourage membership in Carolinas Balloon Association for additional Balloon Crew training opportunities prior to Carolina BalloonFest.
Each Volunteer is an important member of a large team committed to providing a memorable experience for thousands of daily visitors, especially guests who will be taking balloon flights.
Opportunities & Benefits. Volunteers receive a commemorative Carolina BalloonFest Volunteer T-shirt - worn 'on shift'. Free admission is offered to each Volunteer on their shift day. We encourage Volunteers to arrive early or stay after a shift to enjoy all the special nuances of Carolina BalloonFest.
How We Schedule Volunteers. Volunteers are scheduled on a 'first registration' basis, so please submit your online registration early! Most team and area needs will be fulfilled in an auto-schedule process here online. Please register only for the specific date(s) and time(s) you can absolutely commit to volunteer. For instance; if you register on this team and select 3 dates/times, this is your commitment to volunteer on all 3 dates and times.

After you register in your preferred area, an auto response will be forwarded to your Email. Please print your auto-response confirmation letter. Bring your confirmation letter to the Statesville Chamber (115 E. Front Street, Statesville, NC 28625) to redeem your T-Shirt, Parking Pass and Wrist Ticket as a 2012 Volunteer with Carolina BalloonFest.

Rain or Shine...Carolina BalloonFest is open! Hot Air Balloons will fly, tether or be on display when suitable. safe weather conditions exist. The decision to inflate hot air balloons is made near and prior to scheduled display, tether or launch & flight times.
