Guidelines for History Gallery or 2012 Carolina BalloonFest
Remember when the 'Fest' was the 'Rally'? We'd love to expand our History Gallery page and welcome contributions from pilots and fans of hot air balloon rallies and fests -- held annually for 39 years in Iredell County. Photos of posters & flyers are welcome, too!
Would you like to share your photos? If yes, we'd love to publish your treasured memories of our spectacular event! Emailed photos with permissions will be considered for our History Gallery page, 2012 Gallery page and Facebook.
Now accepting photos from our hot air rallies and fests in Iredell County since 1974. Images of posters, flyers and memorabilia from over 39 years are also welcome.
Here's how to participate...
Image/Photo Submission Kit
Now accepting hot air balloon images captured during 39 (early years are extra special!) at National Balloon Rally & Carolina BalloonFest events! OK to submit 1-3 for History page and 1-3 for 2012 Gallery page.
Please submit images/photos with the following attributes:
1) High resolution digital images; minimum 640 pixels width or height, cropped ('Internet' publish-ready)
2) Photographs for 2013 calendar consideration must be scanned to 300 DPI (print-ready)
3) Accepted Digital File Formats: JPEG or PNG or PDF
4) OK to submit 1-3 photos of one year, OK to submit only 1 photo
5) ID each image/photo for easy reference
Include event year, CBF 1, CBF 2, CBF 3 and your full name before the .JPEG or .PNG extension

Submission ID 1 Example: 1981_CBF1_PatSmith.JPEG
Submission ID 2 Example: 1994_CBF2_PatSmith.JPEG
Submission ID 3 Example: 2001_CBF3_PatSmith.JPEG

When Emailing photos, also include the following information, if possible:
6) A brief description of each history photo - such as pilot or balloon name or location where photo was captured.
7) Name of photographer, if known
Submissions will be published on our History Gallery page with best effort basis, only. Photo submissions may be used when quality and ID information is provided and at the discretion of Carolina BalloonFest. Submissions are not a guarantee of use or publication. Images published on the History Gallery page will be copy protected (copy or save action is disabled). Your photo submission(s) grants Carolina BalloonFest permission to use for promotional purposes - in support of the mission of our organization. Courtesy credit will be noted when applicable & possible!

Rain or Shine...Carolina BalloonFest is open! Hot Air Balloons will fly, tether or be on display when suitable. safe weather conditions exist. The decision to inflate hot air balloons is made near and prior to scheduled display, tether or launch & flight times.
